Panaji – Congress Party today submitted a Memorandum to the Principal Chief Engineer demanding complete transparency in road repair works and warned to launch protests if road repair works dont start in ten days.
A three page Memorandum signed by Congress President Amit Patkar has stated that Details of Work Orders should be made public specifying all technical details of the works carried out. Congress has also demanded Quality Control Checks during the works.
We urge the Public Works Department to take strong action against Contractors who are responsible for sub-standard works. Such Contractors must be blacklisted and their names should be made public to ensure transperancy and accountability, Amit Patkar has stated in the Memorendum.
Congress has also urged PWD not to start any works without issuing Work Orders. All Work Orders should have all technical and commercial details of the works being carried out, mentioned Amit Patkar is the Memorandum.
Congress President Amit Patkar has also urged the PWD to display Work Order at the site where road works are undertaken. He said this will help public to know who is doing the work and hold him accountable.
Congress has stated in their Memorandum that PWD Engineers and Officials should remain continuously present at the Sites where Road Works are carried out and check quality of work.
