Sawant’s decision to buy vegetables from the road-side vendors was a deliberate effort to highlight the significance of local businesses and small-scale entrepreneurs. By engaging with these vendors, he aimed to demonstrate his support for the informal sector and emphasize the importance of their contributions to the economy.

He also travelled in auto rickshaw like a lay man in what also impressed the people of Belgaum.
