Panaji : The Calangute Police have so far booked 13,000 tourists/ local residents for not wearing Face Masks and collected a total cash amount of Rs 26 Lakhs as fine for the current year 2021.
While Covid19 negative certificate or double vaccine is necessary for entering Goa Tourists and locals seemed to have forgotten masks which is still a mandatory SOP. The Calangute police also informed that, 248 guides were booked for illegal touting under the provisions of the Tourist and Trade Act. The guides were produced before the Director of Tourism and fined Rs 2,000 each
