Following the recent terror attacks in Kashmir, Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant has cancelled his birthday celebrations scheduled for tomorrow, citing the somber national mood.
Reacting to the development, BJP Goa’s official spokesperson Giriraj Pai Vernekar took a sharp dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. “This is what sets BJP leaders apart,” Vernekar said. “After the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, Rahul Gandhi was seen partying at a club. In stark contrast, Dr. Pramod Sawant has shown true leadership and empathy by calling off his birthday celebration in light of the recent tragedy.”
The BJP spokesperson’s remarks draw a direct comparison between what he termed as the “insensitivity” of the Congress leader during a national crisis and the “responsible conduct” of the BJP Chief Minister today.
