Leader of Opposition, Yuri Alemao, has strongly criticized the BJP, accusing the party of betraying Goa over the Mhadei river dispute. Alemao pointed to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s earlier statement, where he claimed the long-standing dispute between Goa and Karnataka was resolved, allowing the diversion of the Mhadei river to Karnataka. Alemao questioned whether the Chief Minister of Goa will now file a contempt petition and accused the BJP of selling out Mhadei to Karnataka, urging Goans to recognize the gravity of the situation.
