In preparation for the upcoming festive and tourism season, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Panjim convened a meeting with cruise operators operating from Panaji jetties. The meeting focused on ensuring smooth operations and enhancing safety and service standards. Operators were advised on key guidelines, including:
- Mandatory verification of all crew members.
- Obtaining sound permissions from the relevant authorities.
- Strict adherence to stopping music by 10:00 PM.
- Ensuring all safety equipment is functional and readily available.
- Implementation of comprehensive safety measures on board.
- Compulsory registration of ticketing staff with the tourism department.
- Paying special attention to the needs of differently-abled customers.
- Ensuring tourists are not subjected to undue harassment.
- Issuing only genuine passes and tickets.
These measures aim to enhance both the safety and experience of tourists visiting Goa during the busy season.
