14-Year-Old Erica De Sequeira Shines at India’s First International Jiu-Jitsu Championship

Erica De Sequeira, a 14-year-old from Goa, made history as the youngest and first international jiu-jitsu athlete from India. Trained by international martial arts coach Raunak Singh (Coach Ronnyy), Erica showcased her exceptional skills at the Abu Dhabi India National Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2024 in Delhi.

Erica triumphed in the 52kg weight category for teen girls, winning two silver medals in both the GI and NO-GI events. This championship, held on June 22, 2024, was the largest jiu-jitsu event ever hosted in India, recognized by the Sports Authority of India.

The prestigious AJP India National Jiu-Jitsu Championship saw participation from more than 10 international clubs from various countries, marking a significant milestone in the Indian martial arts scene.
