Pernem Police have arrested 06 accused persons for illegal Sand mining at Terekhol River, Porascadem.
As per PI Jivba Dalvi information was received that sand is being extracted in Terekhol River at Porascadem. Hence a raid was conducted during which 06 accused persons 1)Mr. Sunil Kumar s/o Ramashankar Rajbhar, age- 25 years n/o Basantput, Jilla Pallia, Satpura PS, Uttar Pradesh r/o Naibag, Pernem Goa 2) Mr. Sriniwas s/o Shivshankar Sahani, age- 26 years r/o n/o Basantput, Jilla Ballia, Satpura PS, Uttar Pradesh r/o Naibag, Pernem Goa 3) Mr. Akhilesh s/o Kailash Sahani, age-37 years r/o n/o Basantput, Jilla Ballia, Satpura PS, Uttar Pradesh r/o Naibag, Pernem Goa 4) Mr. Ramshish s/o Naumi Sahani, age- 50 years n/o Basantput, Jilla Ballia, Satpura PS, Uttar Pradesh r/o Naibag, Pernem Goa 5) Mr. Ajaykumar s/o Sudharm Rajbhar, age-35 years n/o Basantput, Jilla Ballia, Satpura PS, Uttar Pradesh r/o Naibag, Pernem Goa and 6) Mr. Govinda s/o Bachhaji Paswan, age-42 yaers r/o Chakki Laxman Dera, Buxar, Bihar r/o Naibag, Pernem were placed under arrest under sections 379 IPC and Sec 4 of Goa Minor Mineral Concessions Rules Act.
During the raid two canoes have also been seized from the river which were being used to extract sand. Approximately value of seized property including canoes is 4,50000/ rs
Pernem Police also wrote letters to the Captain of Ports to verify and for cancellation of the license issued to both canoes and to initiate action against the owner. So also wrote letter to Director of Mines and Geology to take custody of the seized property i.e. sand mineral and for disposal.
Team consisting of PI Jivba Dalvi, PSI Vivek Halarnkar, PSI Praful Giri, PC Sapnil Shirodkar, PC Sameer Naibagkar, PC Bhamhanand Polji, PC Vinod Pednekar conducted raid.
Further investigation is in progress under Supervision of Pi Jivba Dalvi , SDPO Mapuca Shri Gajanan Prabhudessai and SP north Shri Shobit Saxena IPS.
